"So you're getting married on the beach...?"

Nope. Near the beach. Overlooking the beach. Above the beach.

Steve and I aren't so much the "barefoot in the sand" wedding kind of couple, though it does look like a good time! See, I like shoes too much.

Would you put these bad boys anywhere near wet, crabby, seaweedy sand? I didn't think so. Mmmm, slate suede. I love you.

There will be shoes at our wedding, as we are getting married on the lawn at the Dunes Club (that is, if the hurricane my mom is predicting holds off). In the event of inclement weather, the shebang will be moved inside. My shoes will be safe.

I've seen some weddings on the lawn at the Dunes
Club before, usually as I gawk from the beach
itself, in a bathing suit and sarong. Classy! Hopefully, being that the wedding will
be in late September, the number of half-naked onlookers will be limited.

ABOVE: My 4' long painting of the DC, which is, for some reason, mirror imaged here. It goes the other way...

Being that pictures are clearer than my descriptions, here are some pictures of the Dunes Club and said lawn (scoured from other wedding blogs). The big two story bay window rotunda is where the whole thing could be moved into if the Wedding Hurricane hits.

TOP: Deck outside of smaller room where cocktail hour is held, traditionally.

BOTTOM: Where they are posing is outside the aforementioned deck. To the left, above that, is the inside of the dining room. Kelly green chairs, plates, etc. make our "color palette" easier to execute!

This bride looks phenomenal, but I love my shoes too much. Lawn over her shoulder to the left.
